Pissers sputtering?

I went out today and noticed the pissers "sputtering" occasionally, even while underway on flat water. The temp felt O.K., probably about the same as it has since I got it. Might have been a little hotter, but the water was colder, so hard to tell for sure. Nothing dramatic anyway. Is some sputtering normal? Anything I should check to be sure?

Bummer. I have the intake manifold off of my family boat right now, was hoping this wasn't anything major. I'm sure I can figure out head gaskets, but what O ring are you talking about?

OEM Yamaha head gaskets are the best IMO. They cost a little more than the aftermarket but they seal better than the rest.

it could also be something clogging your cooling line, or pisser line.

make sure there isnt a dirt dauber in the pisser, and then blow thru all the lines, including the one at the pump.

ive had trash hung in the line from the pump before, atrash= gravel, bits of wood, plastic baggy stuff.. and itll sputter, or stop flow completely.
