It's the single trailer from my first ski, the zxi... I just chopped some wood per how mouthfulloflake made his. After that I jsut bought some L brackets and attached my already made wooden cradles. Not finished, because the cradles are worn out and I just need to put the skis in teh water and reassemble the cradles

sweet, no you wont bust a nut trying to load and unload your hoopty skis!

That shiat looks straight out of the New Yankee Woodshop!

hey I think if we piled everything from our 4 skis together and some from the couches, we could probably put together 2 well running skis...

Maybe(dont hold me to this) we could install those nifty rope pole limiters on all the skis.

Seriously though, do you think it will work? I wanted to be able to take the cradles off and throw them in the back of my truck if I needed to pull a trailer.

it will work.

I cant see how you attatched the timber to the trailer, and the cuts are a little deep, not leaving much overhang over the trailer side rails for support.

re-build those bunks, use, pressure treated lumber, use decking screws ( coated to live in the treated lumber) and tite bond II wood glue on every joint.

it will be forever then.

cover all that mess in some turf of astro afro americo turf or something.... hell even Gator grip would work well there.

right now,
it just looks gay.

The reason there's not much overhang is because the biggest wood I could find was 2x12 and I needed the piece of wood to drop 9.5'' down to the bottom of the frame, to be able to bolt the wood to the highest and lowest bolt holes where the trailer bunks went.

Each piece of timber is bolted to the frame through 5 of the bolt holes where the trailer bunks could be adjusted to sit.

The cradles are L bracketed in there in 4 places each.

trim those long thin upper pieces before the get snagged and damage the whole part.

I wish you were awake in the daytime some for pictures.

Sorry, I edited it as you were posting... Each big piece of timber is attached with 5 bolts in holes where the bunks could be attached to the original frame. I'll take some pics in the morning when I get off work. Maybe I'll drink some natty lite to put me to sleep.

you should sell these like the guy on the other site selling the walk through stainless steel trailers. you would probably sell more than he will.

I think it will be fine, as long as the trailers springs are not over loaded, give it some 'float' and it will sustain the violent shock of a pothole at 70.

oh wait, diesel puller.

ok pothole at 59.

strap them across the back too though, rigt now, there is nothing stopping them from sliding forward in a sudden stop.

is there a reason you want to keep those bunks removeable?

it will work as is ( ad that rear strap!)

But, that zinc coated hardware ( L brackets) will only give you a few fatigue cycles I think, and then your gonna have to keep tightening it down.
