I found a really good deal, for a 4 place zieman trailer, and basically 2 jet skis were thrown in with it.

A 1990 Yamaha waverunner which I will just part out

but my question involves the x-2

Its a 1990 Kawasaki x-2, that ran last summer, but has been parked outside, in fairly cold weather sometimes gets in the mid 20's. I was thinking of changing the plugs, checking the carbs, getting new gas, buit want to be safe, before I try to start it. What is some safe precautious i should go thru, before i start a ski, that may or may not have a bad motor.

thanks

i dont think your going to run into many problems. thats really not that long to sit. hopefully they winterized it. if not water could have froze and cracked stuff.

Yeah, they didnt winterize it, so I want to take every precaution to make sure I dont cause anymore damage then needed. i will try to get it started, then if it does run, then revuild the carbs. I wasnt to concerned when it was left outside, but when he told me he didnt winterize it, and on top of that, when i went to look at it, it was 25 degrees out, and 2 inches of snow, it concerned me.

If it runs great if not great, I look at it, as 2 free watercrafts

The water would have to be filled completely inside something for it to crack it .I doubt anything would be full of water enough to crack something .

Thaw it out and put some new plugs and gas and fire her up .:headbang:

runaway

I break stuff
You might try to pull the plugs and put a little 2 stroke oil down the plug holes, let it sit for a while, then crank the coupler over by hand. Just to make sure its not siezed and to get a little lube down the cylinder walls.
