I am verified, thats why I use a dummy bank account, I was NOT giving them another credit card # ( which is what they try and get)

also, they will send you a check SJrider, it just takes like 700 days to 'process'

NICE, I guess I gotta get verified. I am going in boys lets hope I dont get robbed. Dont they also charge you more when your verified?

I've had mine linked for years, and haven't had any issues. I asked my bank what would happen if funds were illegally pulled out of my account through PayPal and they told me it wouldn't be a problem. (Of course they say that now, but...)

Call your bank and ask.

This is why I hate Paypal. They suck you in with the "Free Account" and later force you into upgrade later. I now have added Benefits of the Premier Account which charges 50 cents plus 3% for each transaction. :banghead: :banghead:

I use paypal for my business sometimes. I've had a business acct for about 6 years. It's much cheaper than having to accept credits cards through my business. It's a good service for a fair price.

This is what I figured from what I read. Its all the same but cost you more. And higher risk. Doesnt seem like it would be good Bus. to charge your customers more the more they use it???? But what choicedo we have huh? Is there another system we can start using at least on this forum????

There are other choice of course, but none of them are a widely used as Paypal. I guess if I were in business Paypal would be a good  but to get the lowered rate of 1.9% + $0.30 you must have monthely sales of $100,000.00 USD

I really hate that if I decide to sell something on ebay that I'm giving them a double payday. First Ebay fees, then Paypal Fees :bs2:

I dont like or trust paypal either, but there isnt anything better or more widely accepted that I have found.

as far as the fees for ebay go.. roll it in, consider it the cost of doing business, you can either make a profit or not.

try to advertise in your local paper and see if its any cheaper!

Agreed.
I really don't sell enough stuff anyway to be concerned with it. It just annoys me. :cat05:

While some bad things happen through Paypal, I still think it is safe. A few years ago, my roommates account was hacked into, and about $6000 was taken from his account and card. It took a little while, but he got it all back from Paypal. I agree that the fees are somewhat harsh, but the convenience factor outweighs the cost IMO. The other option is to send money orders, which is hardly worth the small savings, as it is much more unsafe and time consuming. I have never encountered what you are talking about, so I can't really advise you on what to do; maybe your best option would be to link your PP to a checking account dedicated solely to PP, and you could put whatever protection you deem fit on that account? -Kurt

Paypal has gotten way better. Back when it first opened they would close accounts for no reason and many people never saw the money that they had in their account. I actually had it done it me and after a few days of searching for the phone number (which is not easy to find) I was able to have them cut me a check for the funds in the account. They wanted to charge me 1.50, that is paypals fees for cutting checks. After bitching and telling them I didn't ask for them to close my account they dropped the fees. That was probably 6-7 years ago. Nothing has happened since then.

PayPal is owned by eBay. While I like eBay for what it can do and generally have no problem paying their fees, I abhor paying PayPal. PayPal is The Devil.

Isn't it ironic?
Dont 'cha think?
