Isn't PP gift basically like sending MO or check?

I bought a SJ using PP gift. It was before they started cracking down, not sure what would happen if you gifted $10k today. I'm betting at a minimum contact you about the transaction, then try to get the fees, then maybe shut down yours and his PP accounts....but then, maybe nothing.

I think if you run enough money through PP in a given month, they make you upgrade your account, not sure what that level is.

PAYPAL DOES NOT COVER VEHICLES!!!!!!!!!!! INC JETSKIS.

Using Paypal is pointless, you have no fall back, they do not cover vehicles. I checked the same thing for the blaster i bought from Canada (shipping to Australia). Ended up getting sellers ID and as much info on seller prior, It felt safe so I went ahead. all good. If it failed, I knew where to find him - I even skyped him first, checked out his company website etc..

Anyone esle purchased ski on line through pay pal? Please, do share....
I purchased a ski from a seller using paypal, but this was my choice. As mentioned below I have also gathered as much information and trust from the seller as I could. The seller was very reputable on this site with many other users backing him up. The seller had experience in shipping hull/s before so I wasn't to concerned about this. I went through the options of sending a wire transfer or a check and these routes do not have any protection like the paypal gift. The wire had a fee, and the check would take several days. I decided to just pp the amount, however I had to do so in a couple different transactions as there might've been a limit per day for my account. Once the total amount was recieved, the ski was shipped out immediately with all the information about picking it up. I personally had much confidence in my transaction, however I would do a TON of research about the ski/seller before purchase. Also if somewhat do-able just pick it up for youself, unless its across the whole county. There really is nothing better than going, testing everything out, then leaving with something you're totally satisfied with.
I have bought a hull without seeing it and a few other large purchases. I usually talk with seller on phone, it makes me feel better and you can usuallyget a good feel about the person. Most people on the x, selling high end skis are fairly decent people.
