Painting the inside of a hull

While I have my engine out of my old sn superjet, I thought I would brighten up in the inside of the hull with some white paint.

Assuming I tape everything in relatively well, is there anything else to be concerned about? Is there a certain kind of spray paint that should be used, or would I be safe buying a couple of the most expensive cans of white spray paint at the local hardware store. I don't want it to peel off after 3 rides.

Just don't paint your midshaft or any moving parts. Use appliance epoxy. You can buy it at walmart for $5 a can. See pictures in both of my build threads... Holds up to gas, cleans easily, and shines like a champ.

It looks like you even painted over the bolt holes for the engine mount and midshaft...??

Yeah I did... A light push and turn of the bolt will break through any paint but usually doesn't even cause even the slightest issue. I didn't fill the holes with paint, just a little bit got around the hole and inside.

Was that spray epoxy paint or roll, brush on?

It is spray appliance epoxy. Word of caution... Cover everything on the ski that you don't want painted and paint outside. For some reason that stuff has really fine particles and it goes everywhere. When I did my 750, I did in the garage. There was a faint white mist all over my arm, pole, ski, and both cars.

A respirator might be a good idea too because you'll be sticking your head inside the hull.

My engine comp was painted by the guy who painted all my hull... some marine paint with clear coat. Really nice and this will never peel off and really easy to clean up.
