Yes powder coating is by far the best and more durable but you have to fully disassemble your motor or pay someone else to do it. I would love to have it so don't get me wrong but it's way easier and cheaper to spray it. You do have to know of someone or some shop who can do the powder coating and wait a couple days or a couple weeks for them to finish it. Not sure what it costs to powder coat but I know it's quite a bit more than a $5-$6 can of paint. I don't know about you guys but I update the paint on my stuff every couple years because I either scraped the paint off with tools or because it caked with exhaust and oil. Powder coating will be more resilient to the tooling marks but not indestructible. Nothing gets the goop off except harsh chemicals and scrubbing.
