painting hood... white or black?

well I dont know anything about painting... i figured some black paint may be darker than others.... or maybe have more metallic or something added to it... I am really sorry if that sounds dumb... I dont know jack about paint.... but this thread is helping with some beginner-beginner lessons... Thanks guys.

as it is now, the oem paint from hood to hull is different also. some more than others.
