Other Painted Registration Numbers

Anyone painted on their Reg numbers? Reason I ask is the new hull I bought has the textured flat black paint (quasi bedliner feel) and I have noticed that my registration numbers have trouble sticking to it, even when that spot has been cleaned thoroughly. Any thoughts as to best way to:

1.) get the stickers to stick without sanding paint
2.) paint on reg numbers?

Thoughts or Ideas?

Can you run them on the pole in your state?

No they are required to be on the hull itself. I have run them on the hood before but I think that is pushing it.

Use a heat gun to let the sticker mould to the uneven pattern. Press them into it when hot. Should work.

normal vinyl type stickers? that doesn't mess with the "stickiness" of them?

Nah once the cool down they'll be stuck on good! Just don't heat them too much.Signwriters do this all the time to get stickers to fit in odd shapes.

#1: Glad you're doing your best to stay legal.
#2: Legal is different in different states.
#3: Removing decals sux beyond belief. Bedliner stuff? Holy crap!
I ended up prepping and painting an entire ski after gauging the hull 1000's of times with the razor knife. (skillfully) Ha!
No advise. Just empathy.

Thanks. Its not really bedliner. Just has a flat textured paint on it. I really like it just having trouble getting stickers to stick.
