Pad eye nut for limiting strap pole mount

I am considering using a pad eye nut for the hand pole mount point on my limiting strap.

This is what I bought to work as a pad support and eye nut combo on my x-metal pole. this eye nut was outrageously expensive.

the thread is 3/8"- 16 on an x-metal pole.

I just tig welded a 3/8" lock washer on the bottom of the acorn nut. I bent the lock washer so the ends were in line.

I haven't looked at my ski, but pictures i have checked appear that the nut will be aft of the hood. I have not seen a specific picture of a known -4 RN pole on a stock SN hood, so i might be surprised.

stock will be metric. M8 would be my guess, but I don't know what pitch.

just get a little piece of stainless flat bar drill a hole for the bolt, and another hole for the hook.

this is what I have and its great, don't have to bend it at 90 degrees either so it keeps the profile low

I got an eye nut similar to your pic from mcmaster and re-tapped it to the fine metric thread. I believe it is M8 but not entirely sure.
