how out of shape are you? I have never puked unless alcohol or illness were involved- and I'm not what you call "physically fit" just your average guy with a sick pack hiding under some padding.

I'm fit, I just personally try to push myself so hard that I throw up, or feel like I'm going to:bigeyes:. It's my own little way of letting me know I've worked out hard. In a sick and twisted way, on an empty stomach of course.

I've done it, it works.
You just have to stick with it and follow through. The lean diet they have you one helps a lot also.

You don't eat less, you eat better.
There is a guide in the nutrition book that has you measure your weight and check it against a chart that shows you which diet to go with.

Most of the food is a lot of lean meat and veggies. Very little fat and carbs, nothing is cut out completely, but most of what you will eat is meat and veggies. You'll drink a lot of water too. (I cut out drinking adult beverages for the three months too) I found that if I just commited to the entire plan, every workout and the eating plan I was able to stick with the whole program. Not being a veggies guy is no excuse, you'll need to find something you can get by with. I am also not exactly a veggies guy, but I found some stuff I could eat. I can't remember the exact portions, but I found I had to eat all day long to make sure I ate everything I was suppose to. I bought a little scale to help count out the portions too, it really helps you get an idea of exactly how much you are taking in. Most people have no idea what the size of the portions they are actually comsuming are.

Awesome..! im through to week 2 myself.. Ab ripper X I hate it but I love it! get a chin up bar and go with the bands.. I thought i was in good shape.. ha.. not so much i guess.. It works, its simple and I have no regrets.. Tony Horton is the man (host/personal trainer in the videos).. hard to stick with the diet on summer weekend BBQs.. But it makes up for it when you dont have a beer gut at the lake and your buddies do.. face it we are all in a shirt off at some point sport.. One vote thumbs up from this guy

Be careful working out when you havent' had any food in your system for over 8 hrs(I am assuming your working out first thing in the morning). Your body will be burning more muscle for energy since your glycogen levels were low to begin with and it will go with the best source of stored energy when needed. Not to mention cortisol levels(your stress hormones) are elevated in the morning, and having no food in your stomach will increase those levels more(not a good thing).

Suggestion: Eating something small whether it be a bowl of fruit, a banana or something quick will help prevent you from wasting your muscle away while exercising.

Im sure others feel fasted cardio and/or weight training might think differently about the subject, but there are plenty of sources on bodybuilding.com and even t-nation that suggest fasted workouts are not the best idea.

Hope this helps.

Here is a review on some Blog. Didn't read the whole thing but will tonight after work.

Searched P90X on Google and found this:

She says to try the fit test first to see if the program is right for you:

I've read the Body for Life Book she referenced, and it was good. Basically, the books philosophy is to use muscle, which requires more energy to keep, to burn fat. Since muscle requires more energy, you burn the stored fat due to the diet they have (basically portion size and balance of protein, carbs, etc.).

Sounds like she has the right perspective on the program, but like I've said I haven't read the whole review.
