Simple old plain jet ski trailer, but I decided to strip it all the way down.
Primed with mar Hyde self etching primer then sanded and re primed.
2 coats of 67 Chevy marina blue.
Pics will speak more then I can.

Thanks guys. Been a lot of damn work but its worth it.
The old free ride rig needs a good revamping. New bunks and a part job and it would be new money again to.
Dad has 2 he wants redone and I have another 2 that need this treatment. I got around 30 hours in this bitch. And it's the smallest I then all.

awesome paint ...... without roof ;-))

good job and beautiful blue

Yeah first thing I have worked on in the new shop and it still doesn't have a roof haha. I was going to just make a jig to hold the frame so i could paint it then realized I had the perfect setup right there. :) ceiling joist and ratchet straps are your friend.

Looks good. One of my trailers is badly neglected and this just got me motivated to paint it....sometime. If I ever do this to my rusty white one, I'll want to paint my purple trailer something besides purple. lol

That looks incredible. I had a trailer built back in 94. Painted a few times. Finally I stripped paint off and painted it with "Truck bed liner paint". Not the best looking but zero rust in over 10 years. Wish they had that color in the truck paint. I would do it all over again!!!

For anyone that doesn't want all this work this one could be had once I'm done with it. Wheels are getting painted And new fenders put on. Tires aren't great and will most likely be new in a few days to. Buddy bearings, hubs and bearings nice and tight seals look good. Has original tag and vin number still attached so a title can be had if your state requires it. Ill make an ever sweeter deal if you take the x jet with it :)

Thanks. It would probably be a lot more durable with bed liner on it. I had every intention on just painting it black. And when I went and dug through my paint stash I found this and honestly just wanted to spray this color on anything. One of my favorites. I didn't expect it to come out this well, but I did a weeks worth if prep hoping it would.

I have to do the same to my new to me trailer. What did you use to strip the paint and rust?

pretty much all done by hand, not the easiest way by a long shot. i would suggest a sand blaster if there is someone local to you that can do it cheap.

what i did was remove all the rust with a wire wheel and a hand brush. used a 60 grit wheel on a rotary tool to take all the paint off then hit it again with a paint and rust remover soft pad. followed with hand sanding with 600 grit to remove any burs and remainder.
primed it twice then fine sanded the primer with 600, then 800. cleaned it with acetone then rubbed it down with a tack cloth before painting.
