For what it's worth...I just bought 3 gallons of low viscosity, clear cure (non-blush) epoxy resin with metering pumps for 127 + 30 shipping on Ebay.

We'll see how that works out.

fast or slow? Seeing as your working conditions are cold, I'm assuming you bought fast. I have yet to see a single epoxy that is fast that is non-blushing. If your working in cold weather like I am, then yes, fast wont blush much and in my case (about 55 degrees) wont blush at all (using MAS), but in regular conditions...

Eh.....I think it's medium or slow. Exterior temps do not matter much to me, as I pre-heat the epoxy, work it in with a heat gun, and have heat lights on it for curing.

I just finished reinforcing my round nose build up project hull and I tried some of the MAS epoxy mainly because it was cheaper than the West. I used the medium hardener and a heat lamp to speed the cure. Had plenty of work time in the pot and liked the fact that I could delay the setup until I put some heat on it. I went with the medium hardener because it claimed little or no amine blush. Everything dried clear and hard as a rock. Be aware that the pump systems are different between the MAS and the West. The MAS is a 2:1 where the West is a 4:1 if memory serves. I agree that for our purposes the cheaper epoxy will work just fine. Thats my .02 on the subject.

Cuz your Christmas presents suck. :haha:

Naw, just kidding. Because I think I'll run out of the stuff you gave me. I am already halfway through the bucket. Here's what I gotta do:

-Reinforcement of the Square
-Gluing in footholds on my Roundnose
-filling in deep scratches on the bottom of the square
-Coming up with a nosepiece for the Square
-Chinpad for the Square
-Various other projects :sneaky:

So, I figured I'd need more epoxy.

Especially considering you're coming over this weekend, and we'll probably drink. :haha:

******** a gave you a ton of glass too!!!! you need to put the lid back on that resin......and lay off the vodka. You are using too much resin. How much glass have you put down?

Eh...I used a bunch for the bondline, and a bunch up front. But I do feel that the glass has exceptionally low resin content.

What vodka? It seems whenever I have any, I either bring it to your house and it stays there, or you drink it here.

Are you really complaining that I got 3 gallons of high quality resin coming my way?

hey keefer, the I'm working in about a 55 degree work environment, I use the fast and usually have a lamp overhead that heats the surface to about 65. With the epoxy not preheated, and using fast, I get a pot-life (in the 55 degree air temp) or about 45 minutes at least, I havent gone past that yet. I also have had almost no blush, and in some cases none, because it's cold and the curing process is slow, even with the heat lamp (only truly heats the surface).

Blush is no big deal, just takes a scotchbrite and some water with 30 seconds of scrubbing...
