Oscoda, MI this weekend, Mackinaw the 22nd!

I'm not too sure about how many people are out there in michigan, but there's a bunch of us that get together on the Au Sable River in Oscoda where it'd dammed up at Old Orchard Campgrounds. We'll have a few skis out there all weekend, and there's always waves!

ALSO!!! Next weekend on saturday there'll be a few of us going up to Mackinaw, MI to hit the Ferry Boat waves! I scoped it out last weekend and they Ferry boats take off in a cove that's almost always like glass, and after the 73 foot long boats go through you have one awesome three foot wave! Best of all, beaches and water are clean, and the boats take off every 15 minutes!

Damn... Old Orchard? I havent been there in years. I used to go camping there every year with my grandmother. Those were good times. My parents met at Old Orchard way back in the day. Do you remember Blue Horizon campground? Its right across the reservoir from Old Orchard but it was closed down by consumers power a few years ago because they had problems with electricity. You could tell too. We would come in from swimming in the river and fight over who had to open the doorknob to the camper because you would get electricuted if you were wet haha. Good times lol. I would love to make it up there again...especially to go jetskiing. Too bad Im broke and my ski is too...

Yeah, we actually have the closest campsite to Blue Horizons at Old Orchards. It's an awesome time, the water is awesome and the waves are nice.

damn i would love to come up, my cabin is only 20 min. from there. but i was planing on going to the clevland rock n ride.

There are a few 25 foot cabin cruisers that put up some nice waves, and they're even nicer when the rest of the lake is like glass...

I'll be in Mackinac the following weekend with an SXR and SJ. I used to hit the ferry waves about ten years back and it was sick.......... Follow the Arnold line out they throw out a huge wake.........

That's pimp! We've never hit really large waves, and went out in Lake Huron off of Oscoda and there were some HUGE rollers! I can only imagine what the ferry boat waves are going to be like. I'll be on a blue SJ and a friend of mine is running a silver/orange/blue SXR. If you see us flag us down, I doubt that there will be too many other standups out there. Also, where is a good place to launch at mackinaw?
