They sell different caps that allow you to run the oneway valve. For the pickup I use a external pump that has 1 main supply then breaks off into 2 lines to supply the dual carbs. On the tank itself one line has a weighted pick up the other is the return line that just dumps back into the tank.

wow, nice and clean, i have an external pump too, i just kinda wanted to use the stock carb ones but that looks like it will work too. how did you keep the battery there? is it the xft bracket or did you fab something yourself, it sure would look good with a pc-310 battery sitting in there.

That is the closest tank that I can find and ordered one for anouther side project I am working on. Kills 2 birds w/ one stone, shaves about 14+ lbs off the front of the boat and converts it to an internal fuel fill.

how do you figure? if you put the same amount of gas in either tank, i cant see a 14lbs diff.

are you saying if you top them both off, theres a 14lbs diff?

Actually, it would be closer to 18lbs if the kart vs. OEM tank were both top filled.

IMO: Replacing the stock tank for a 2 gallon tank would only be good for freestyle competition. There are times I wish I could buy a 6.5 gallon tank for the SJ. When I fill up, I usually also fill up the underside of the fuel cap.

There is a couple lb difference between the tanks themselves then when you factor in the weight of a full 2 gallons vs the weight of a 5 gallons it adds up quick. I don't mind the small tank at ass as I stay pretty close to shore and only ride for about 30 minutes at a time. With this set up you eliminate the RES line as well so there is not need to run a petcock.

the battery is mounted to a XFT bracket.

Well I'm out of town for the holidays so I can't ake a pic, but, I made something similar to the blowsion filler for a couple bucks. I took the stock cap and filler piece and used a rubber coupler to put it wher the stock fuel fillers go in. Then I drilled a couple holes in the side of the stock filler neck and got some aluminum piping and compression fittings from the hardware store. (prob $10 with of parts) 1 90 deg fitting, and ran the tubes into the tank.

I'll post a pic when I', back.

My new 8.5L cart tank saved 4lbs 1oz..... both tanks empty! Thats the only true weight savings... the rest just depends on how much fuel you put in!

The smaller tank+ XMW waterbox with front only exhaust realy cleans up the inside of the boat..... I saved 12lbs total just doing these two things.

I like it Rat real sano, I may have to try that. Where do the tanks straps attach?

On the XFT set up the tank is bolted to the battery tray that is bonded to the hull. If your battery is in the stock location you can run straps in the OEM locations but the length may have to be modified. Allot of these tanks have brass threaded fittings installed on the front of them to mount them to the frame rails of karts. I am working on a small bracket to mount the fuel pump on the front of the tank itself so it will be very clean looking. But you will ahve to run teh battery in the stock location. By kepping teh battery in place you can achually move teh tank closer to the motor, further centering the weight and lightening teh nose even more. IMO if you are running a aftermarket hull you and do not do a X-metal box and small tank you are kind of short changing yourself. That is a extra 20+ lbs off the ski when the tanks are topped off w/ fuel. You could just only put 2 gallons in the 5 gallon tank but it will slosh around more. I am achually going to run foam in my tank next year to help keep the ful on the bottom, though it is not as much of a problem with the 2 gallon tank. Just be conscious of your fuel consunption.

Below are some pics of the XFT tank and the engine bay of one of Lenzi's boats
