Anyone have recommendations on good mega retailers online? Looking for a couple upgrades (stem and brakes) for the MTB and not into this game enough to which sites carry which brands, etc.

Local shops all carry specific brands and try to only push those, also do not have a good selection and have to "special order" anyway.

I use jensonusa.com, nahsbar.com, and I've found some rediculously cheap tires at biketiresdirect.com as well.

There are tons of others, but these are my 3 go-to's.

www.chainreactioncycles.co.uk - yes they are in the UK, but for big orders or certain brands like Hope you can get awesome deals.

Then again, if you have a local shop that you like, just tell them you'd rather buy from them if they can come close to online pricing and they'll more than likely do it. Don't be a butt about it though. I switched my road bike to 10-speed recently and spent maybe $10 more for a cassette/chain at my LBS but I walked out of the store with them in my hand instead of waiting and paying for shipping.

I've found a local Performance Bicycle store and like dealing with them. Service has been great, and they always seem to have a sale. Their website and members club make shopping easy, too.
