300/440/550 On vs. reserve

A simple question that I can't find the answer anywhere. My 650sx has two positions, on and reserve. What is the vertical selection/horizontal selection?

650's Don't Have An Off,they Run Forever,seriously Though Straight Up Is Reserve,the Other Position Is On

I don't know, is there an off and on? or reserve and full? I know there are 3 hoses on the back and one states "RES"

12 oclock is reserve and 9 oclock is ON.
