Old oil...

The people that had my house before me had a gallon and a half of Yamalube oil that they left behind. I have no idea how old the oil is but it's been out in the weather for quite a while. I'll probably ditch the one that's open (in case something else got put in there) but is there any reason why the unopened gallon wouldn't be good? I figure lots of sun and water to the container but not sure if that affects it.

My cousin and I just burned some oil in our skis, oil that was at least 3 years old and unsealed... I don't think oil is rocket science, if it looks good then it is good in my experience. Except I wouldn't use it in a Seadoo.

I was told by an old yamaha dealer not to worry about the age of 2-stroke oil. As long as there isn't stuff in it like you said, I would run it.
