Got a 1992 Seadoo XP that I'm removing the oil pump and installing a block off plate on.

I didn't remove the engine, so I'm doing everything off a photo I found online of the oil pump with instructions on how to do this. I can't really see the bolts, and am going off of feel.

I got the 2 bolts off the top and bottom of the the pump. She turns freely now, but doesn't pull out. I can pull the pump off, maybe, 2cm before it feels like something inside the pump gets stuck inside the engine.

Any idea of what could be the problem? I don't think I missed any bolts...

I remember the same thing happening to me on my 96xp quite a few years back. I cant remember exactly but I think you have to remove the intake. The pump shaft will not just come out.

you will need to remove the intake manifold
on the back side of the pump there is a gear bolted to the oil pump
only access is from removing the intake
if i remember correctly like 6 5mm allen bolts
vomit

Yes it would be easier to remove the whole rotary valve cover actually, unbolt it with the four 13mm headed bolts,do not let the rotary valve come off the shaft when you do this or you will have to retime it,that way you can get the whole mess up on top of the head where you can see it,carb removal is not necessary on a single carb model though. The intake bolts are acessable without removing the carb.
