oem start/stop wiring help

I'm in the middle of wiring my oem start/stop and lanyard to my TL (analog). Directions are a little vague. Looking for some advice. I've got a BROWN/RED coupled together and a WHITE/BLACK coupled coming from the oem switch. The TL directions say to wire one of those sets to the pickup leads off the stator (doesn't say which set to use)??? Then run the other set to the starter relay I would assume it would be a black/red set like what's coming from battery to the relay and then to the switch. I don't know which wires to run to pickup leads and which ones to connect to relay?

Next question is for the purple wire coming from brain. Wiring schematic shows it connected to a seperate lanyard switch then to an aftermarket on/off switch and then to the + batt term. Can I just forget the other lanyard and run the purple(from brain) to on/off switch then to + term.?

Last question, do you boys run a fuse between the battery and brain on your TL setups? If I have to I need to go get a fuse holder.

the oem brown/red wires coming from the h/pole switch are for your start solenoid. Red is B+ (hot) and the brown energizes the solenoid. The black and white wires coming from the h/pole switch stop the motor when connected together, splice them to your green wires which run from the pick-up to the module. If you pull the lanyard or push the red button , the engine stops.
You need an on/off switch or connector under the hood to power the
violet wire to B+, otherwise the electronic module will drain your bat.

Please, use a fuse between B+ and the module. Marine type fuse holders can be had locally at West Marine or even some auto parts stores, you can always install that later, though.

Please, use a fuse between B+ and the module. Marine type fuse holders can be had locally at West Marine or even some auto parts stores, you can always install that later, though.

what size fuse do you use?
