ODI Grips on Stock SJ Bars - too long?

I bought some used 2-clamp style ODI Rogues for my SN SJ and the length of the grip is too long to fit on the bar without moving the start switch pod. Anybody else run into this and have a good solution, or are these just the wrong grips for this ski?

I don't want to cut the grips any shorter; I guess I could move the pod over 1/2", but I'm not sure how drilling another hole for the pod pin would effect the strength of the bar.
I had a handlebar break once five minutes into a ride, and it was a loonng drive home. . .

But I'm cheap

My friends RN was the same way with the ODIs. Get a quick steer turnplate and some 0 degree bars. Then you can set it up how you like.

Did I mention they were used grips?? I am cheap with stuff like that.
I am content with the way I have my stock steering hardware tweaked, it's just that the stock grips are tearing up my hands, even with gloves.

So I file the nub off the starter pod and realize that two of the four locking rings that came with the used grips are broken. I hate waiting for parts and I hate it when piddly fixes turn in to multi day projects. And my shoulder and elbow hurt. Grrrr.
