Oceano Dunes

I am planning a trip to this area soon. I will be towing a 42' weekend warrior towed by a 4x4 dually.

What is the best route to take from the san bernadino area to Oceano Dunes?

What is the best route to take in the city and where to enter the beach area and place to park.

I have never been to Oceano Dunes before. I just don't want to have to make a bunch of hairpin turns on the streets with such a large setup.

thanks for the help

Old, but still ridin'!!!
Here's the maps I kept from the Smashing Pismo ride in October.

Not sure of the best way from San Bernadino, but I do know that once you get on the 101, take the Grand Ave. exit and go West to Pacific Blvd. (Hwy 1). Then go South to Pier St. and drive onto the beach there. You can get onto the beach at Grand Ave. but it's a lot shorter drive on the sand if you go down to Pier St.

PM LisaLisa, she knows that place inside and out.

Gee GF - thanks for the vote of confidence =)

Hey toofast...I'll be headed back down there soon too - lemme know when you'll be there and maybe we can rustle up some more riders.

Sounds great lisa.

Can't wait to ride the SJ and kx 250 up at Oceano. Also its going to be nice to be able to beach and hang out unlike Oceanside.

Would it be a pain to take my vx110. Would it be hard to launch the beast?

You have a beach cart than can handle it?

I've got a cart which is built for my XPL's but converts quick for the SX-R....I try not to bring it because it's kinda bulky, but I could if you needed it. I'm sure it could handle that Yamabeast of yours...LOL!

Normally we just toss the ski (SX-R) in with a small beach cart......

I have a lifted golf cart I tow a trailer with. that is going. Could I launch with that or do I need a beach cart.

I'm thinking of just leaving the beast at home and taking the sj and bike. I do not have a beach cart. I was planning on aither buying or making one.

I just can't wait to head up that way. Hopefully either next month or march.

I'm in Florida next weekend for the freeride, then I might sneak off for a quick ride (disguised as a visit to my paretns since they live right there...LOL!)

I've got the Mark Hahn 300 endurance race at the end of February, so I'm be training for that, and wouldn't want to risk hurting myself in the surf, but maybe the second weekend in march?
