Times are changing and so must I.

I've been thinking of doing this for quite some time and the first of the new year seems to make both fiscal and common sense.

I’ve pretty much always operated OCD Solutions as a hobby to fund my hobbies but my current job keeps me busy and challenged enough that I don’t really even have time for hobbies these days.

We also just committed to a new home so OCD will be moving around the end of March and getting it’s very own bay.

While “OCD Solutions” will continue to come out of “The OCD Garage”, the garage itself will be the focus in the upcoming year.

With 250 dedicated Sq/ft of floor space and 9ft ceilings, you know my brain is already on overload with all the possibilities of how over the top I can build and organize it.

We are still in the Savannah, (Pooler) area and actually moving just a few miles down the road into a new subdivision.

They just cleared 400+ acres to start a new business development and started breaking ground on a Hospital at the entrance to our current subdivision.
Combined with the 250+ homes they started building out the back of our 2 lane, vehicle lined road, we feel it's time to move before traffic gets even more stupid than it already is.

There is huge demand and low inventory for homes like ours so the timing couldn't be any better. The problem is actually going to be staying in our home until the new house is ready. The real estate agent is predicting us getting offers the first day and under contract within the week.

I do not want to pack up all my stuff and stick it in storage for a month or two! The house would be easy but the garage will be a nightmare.

Stay tuned for an OCD for sale thread, lol. Might be time for a major clean-out!

I wish but I have more than enough things on my plate already.

In addition to all of this, my work schedule for this year is already filling up fast. Our budget got doubled and we are short project managers so I have some heavy lifting to do on a couple projects in addition to providing the technical support.

That's not always an option these days but that is the plan.
The guy across the street sold his about 6 months ago and the new owner paid over asking price but stipulated he wanted occupancy in 10 days.

I'm just freaking out because of everything that has to get done yet and how tight the schedule is. Yesterday was a big day though and we knocked a lot of items of the list so I think it's all going to work out fine.
All I really have left now is to finish drywalling around the new shower unit, paint it and then hang the new shower doors.

There's tons of paint touch ups to be done but that stuff can all wait until after we pack up.

January, - get house ready to list.
February - Hammer down and build as much OCD inventory as possible!
March - pack up the house and move.

I had the same issue when selling my house last summer. I ended up getting a over full price offer but the people wanted us out within 2 weeks and we had an entire house to pack up. Needless to say that contract fell through and we ended up actually selling the house a month and a half later for about 8 thousand more than asking price and were able to rent back for 2 weeks which made all the difference in the world. Borrowed a buddies 12 high x 20 long enclosed trailer and moved the entire house. We had 44 house visits and 3 offers on the house in the first week and 2 competing offers when the house finally sold. Such a stressful time period, especially when we listed our house we didn't have anywhere to go but all in all it was 100% worth it.

I really hope that's how our's plays out.

If we can close on our current home before the new home completes and then rent back for a couple weeks, that would be awesome!
