Nuclear proof adhesive?

Hey guys,
So I'm right at the beginning of my refoam/footwell build and I just tried to take off the stock rail pads. You know those rubber squishy things for your elbows when you stand up. And holy crap did those things not want to come off! Tried just ripping them off, acetone, dremel, brake cleaner, everything. Finally I had to use an exacto to peel away but I still have a ton of the rubber adhered to the ski. Any suggestions, what should I do here? Thanks guys!

I used a 4" angle grinder with sanding pad and keep it steady. It's okay if it knicks the paint a little, if you reach fiberglass then you've gone too far

Got it, keep it steady, keep it around paint level. Thank you kindly! This stuff is weird, like it almost looks like it bonded (read melted) to the clear coat in places...

It doesn't really look that way in the picture, but it's smooth now! Tried the grinder, but got cold feet about taking too much off, then I tried a dremel with a Sander wheel..same cold feet. Tried out the handy joint knife I'm currently fixing a hole in my wall with and it worked pretty ok, a little more elbow grease than the grinder but it came out smooth!

Dont ever be afraid to use a grinder, especially on something thats getting turfed. The surface finish doesnt matter as much for areas getting turfed As long as you dont dig in deep (gouging and making surface uneven), going threw the gelcoat is fine. Your gonna want to hit all the areas to be turfed with 80 grit anyways.

I use a pneumatic right angle die Grindr with a 3" 120grit disc. I find 4" electric angle grinders too easy to slip and take out chunks. DA works good too, just slower than the right angle die grinder. I find the die grinder to be a good balance of control and speed.

I use these a lot too. I love the 3m roloc disks. I use 3 inch disk on 2 inch base so the edge is flexible. 24 grit is my favorite.
