650/X-2 Nozzle mod

Has anyone done this before. Take a stock 650sx nozzle and insert a PVC pipe milled to what ever inside diameter You want and set screw or glue into the stock nozzle as like a sleeve. Any thoughts..?? Just brain storming.

No sure why you would want to do that. Everyone keeps telling me the nozzle bore is 82/83mm and I need to bore it out to 85mm. What would you be accomplishing by making the nozzle a smaller diameter? Maybe more top end by killing the bottom end??

yea the smalled the diameter the nozzle the more top end. with flatwater freestyle im pretty sure you want a big bore nozzle so that you can push as much water through it in a short amount of time for a big punch.

Yeah I don't know I was just thinking about it. I guess the smaller it was the faster you world go but like you said kill the bottom end. Does boring it out make that much of a difference. ??

Sfl Likes to run 650SX nozzles on his ski, I am not sure why, I have never tried it except on a 650SX.

Only difference b/t the 2 is trim, right? If not running trim, it eliminates a bunch of unnecessary crap. I have a 650sx PJS aluminum extended nozzle I was going to try. Having an electrical issue atm so no dice.

Yeah I have a fixed nozzle. I have a skat trak 16 prob on there now. I was going to put on the adjustable trim noz off the 96 Zxi I had but i was so done working on that ski I said :):):):) it.

The PVC does come in only a few sizes but you can always bore it out or use some metal or something. Anyone ever think about building up the bottom lip of the nozzle. Maybe get somewhat of the same effect as a adjustable nozzle ?

There were aftermarket 650 nozzles made that started at 84mm, hard to find now. Get a better prop and use the stock 83mm 650 nozzle.

What kinda prop do I get. This skat trak I have now just says 16. It's much better than stock and pretty quick. I was looking for a prop that would give me some extra torque.

So today I put on my aftermarket PJS nozzle and found another difference. Mounting location for the steering. I can't turn left with this nozzle because the steering cable cannot be short enough to accomidate the closer mounting location. My motor performed much better with the larger diameter nozzle, but I can't use it w/o a solution for the steering location (I don't want to cut my cable).

Vumad If you got a tig welder, relocate the steering attachment or find a shorter cable. And flatdeck the best prop I thin is the impros hooker 9/17 I think that's what most guys run who do freestyle

If the orifice diameter between the reduction nozzle venturi and the steering nozzle venturi is less than 2mm then the boat is hard to turn; if the difference is greater than 3.5mm to 4mm, than the steering gets real sloppy. I would just bore the reduction nozzle a bit larger for more performance because the stock 650sx steering nozzle is already at 83mm and I would not recommend making it any smaller.

85mm Jetlyne nozzles are the best I found that will work with trim also, hard to find however.
