Got the superjet started today after installing a new stator/flywheel/bendix.
Then I was messing with the flush kit pipe that is screwed into the rear of the block, just under the pipe.
I put some blue thread locker on it and proceeded to (over)tighten it!
It snapped off leaving the threaded part inside the mounting hole.
My question is: should I just thread a metal screw into it and forget about it ?

It's a flush kit adaptor that is screwed into the rear part of the upper case, probably goes right into the water jacket. It's a 90 6m6 motor.

I did that once a long time ago. Really soft bolt, for whatever reason. Honestly, that is the SJ gods telling you it's time for an aftermarket pipe. If you've got thread locker on there, it's probably not going to come out. You could probably find a really cheap exhaust elbow on eBay if you really want to stick with the stock setup.

If i understand correctly get a small triangular file and file 3 notches in the broken off piece just deep enough to the threads. NOT into the threads though. Then you should be able to break it out with a small screwdriver and little hammer. Then just pull the pieces out with needle nose pliers.

What pipe is screwed to the rear of the block ????

Sorry, I was blind, it's screwed into the pipe!:banghead:

I did manage to unscrew it without too much problem, using a long thin triangular file that I jammed into the hole, started turning it out and it worked.

Now I think I will just close it up with a bolt and forget about flushing it, since it is only used in fresh water.

a bolt? hmmm, thats a NPT hole. its not a standard (or metric) bolt size, that i know of, since its for plumbing.... as i recall.

either put the flush kit on it or get a brass plug for it. either way, youll be screwing a brass fitting into those threads if you dont want to mess anything up.
