Novi 48s on SXR

I want to put my Novi 48's on my sxr. It is basically stock. Just v-force 3 reeds and timing advance. I need a rebuild kit for them though. Where can I get a rebuild kit in a timely manner? Also, do I need an aftermarket intake manifold? If so what is best one and where can I get it? Also anybody have any starting jetting info they could share? And do I need anything else, like another pulse pump to in order to run them safely and efficiently? Any info you can provide I would be grateful. I'm new to srx. Ran a 1050 hi rev twin xpl for number years so i know how to wrench if need be.

Thank you.

What pipe do you have? Your jetting depends on the pipe you are using

You should definitely use dual pulse lines. I usually drill and tap the case for the second fitting but some reed spacers have them build in.

As far as manifolds, I have a really rare r&d sidedraft manifold that will work with your carbs. It has all hardware, linkage, and spare gaskets. would sell it for 165 shipped

Big K, my xpl is down till spring and the 48s are on a shelf till then. So thought I'd check into seeing what they would do for my srx, which I am new to. So I'm not buying them, I already have them (for my xpl) so I have option of trying them w/o having to buy them. So I thought I would do so, but in a knowledgeable and safe way.

User_error, it has stock pipe. Only mods are the v-force 3 reeds and timing advance. On the side mounted manifold, can you post pic or pm me one. I would prefer to use an intake manifold of recent design but do not know who makes or where to get. Same philosophy on buying a motherboard for a computer, I would go with a fairly recent designed motherboard vice and old design. I hope that makes sense. On the dual pulse pumps, I ran dual pumps on my xpl so have no problem installing them. And your saying this would be a must or smart thing to do if I run the 48's?

Thanks to both of you for the info and pls feel free to share additional. Thanks again.

I would honestly suggest adding a pipe before carbs. You won't see the full benefit of the carbs without a pipe. Like mentioned above, the stock carbs work well in most cases. You can even send the stock carbs to jetworks or novi to have them modified for performance.

To run those carbs with the fuel pumps on the carbs you need to have 2 pulse fittings, one to each carb. If you are using fuel pump block offs and a remote pump you need 1 pulse to the remote pump. I have always preferred the pumps mounted on the carbs and dual pulse lines.

I used the manifold for a while when i had a limited, worked great.

I also have a set of 46 novi carbs set up for a kawi with custom machined spacers that use seadoo 951 carbon reeds. super trick setup. Carbs have jetworks zero backlack coupler and umi throttle wheel and alignment bar20170907_195417.jpg

User_error, that is a nice looking setup. Serial, looks cool. Ive decided i 'm going to hold off putting the novi's on at this time. If I decide to later, I may contact you. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it.

Ok. Does the manifold accommodate v-force 3 reeds? I ask because the later R &D manifold comes in 2 flavors. One for OEM reeds and another for v-force reeds.

I used it with vforce 3 reeds and later with some custom made reed spacers that hold seadoo 951 carbon Rinaldi reeds. Way trick setup. It basically has the spacers and reed cages built into 1 unit and the reeds snap into the spacers
