Not as impressed with the TBM Flywheel as I had hoped.

So I put the TBM Flywheel on my RN this weekend and wasn't as impressed as I expected. I'll have to try knocking down a jet size I guess. I'm thinking that the Hooker impeller I got sitting on the shelf back hope will help a little more.

Would it be worth stealing the WW Cone off my SN? How does the hooker stack with the stubby cone?

I'm actually glad to hear this... there really arn't many reviews out on this product and I am thinking about getting one....

Let us know if you decide you like it once you have it all set up....

Thanks!

I think it's a big piece of the puzzle though I just need to do a few more things...famous words of an addict eh?

I poured a ton of money into my Seadoo engine and it came ALIVE when I installed a lightened PTO, although it has alot more rotating mass than any flywheel.

It has a keyway so I didn't figure I would have to but...It wouldn't hurt to check.

remind me, how do you check on the 701? mark TDC and check alignment to a mark at the coupler?

my first ride with tbm lightened charging wheel and lightened kawi style couplers i couldnt notice the difference.

the second ride i felt it and liked it a lot.

before those mods my only motor mods were b pipe, ada head, flow control.

i can see the difference side by side with a 61x 61x motored ski with identical motor mods and a tdr box. he used to have more bottom/ mid.... now i run away from him on the bottom and still barely edge him out up top like it always has.

the place ive noticed the flywheel shine is when you are running up to a wave and its starting to curl...it gets you there before the wave crashes over you in the surf.

I shouldn't mis-represent the product here. It did exactly what it was supposed to. The engine revs intantly now so the power is always there right when you need it, not a half second late. You quickly adapt to having power on tap and could never go backwards, timing wakes has never been this easy.

While I liked the results and feel it was a necessary step, I really want more power now! I'm playing on a flat water lake with no wake but my own and want more power to play.

I have a superstock seadoo GSXL that will do 0-60 in under 4 seconds and top out at 69mph. It can clear a 45 gallon drum floating on the water with no setup wake just 2 braps of the throttle on a 600 lb plus couch. Now that's impressive! It's actually stupid crazy to ride and beats the hell out of me every time.

Total loss for the win!! That's one way to get the OMG boost that you were expecting.

Just sucks because it's a bit harder to setup.
