So i traded my old dirt bike for an 88 js550, my first ski, never ridden one before two weeks ago.When i ride it it seems to either pop out of the water or the pump is free spinning...Cavitation? ive ridden it three times in the last week. and its a blast but i feel like it should be staying on a more level plane, rather than popping up like this. Im 185 lbs, it does it even if i stand all the way in the front of the tray. The Js has a pjs rideplate, k&n filter/arrestor, and i think thats about it.any comments feel free i wanna ride the crud outta this thing! also everythingin the pump looks brand new but i cant tell.

You're experiencing porpoising. It is generally fixed with more riding time and getting comfortable with a ski. If you want you can do a search about it. There are plenty of threads that will tell youto shim the Rideplate and get a new intake grate but it can usually be fixed with more tray time
