This thread is confusing...

I'm 190-ish, and can idle on a 550 kneeling, but it takes a lot of balance/effort, so I used to just do the lay in the tray and let it drag me at idle.

Honestly, there's nothing wrong with that, but people want to be 'cool' and not do it I guess. It's a no wake zone, just get through it without being yelled at then rip to your heart's content.

no wake = no throttle. at least in ohio if the water craft officer or coast guard feels like watching your hand on the throttle through a pair of binoculars they canticket you if they feel you are not cruising at idle ina no wake zone they say.

i doubt they would get that nit pickey but could if enough retards piss em off enough

The canals over in Winter Haven are long, narrow, and a PITA. Usually I idle around 2000rpm's since I'm not dragging my legs through that nasty grass on the bottom, since the water's so low. Most times, if no one's around, we just blast through them.

I cannot/will not drag behind my ski. for that same reason I take off with a knee in the tray. Coolness factor has nothing to do with it. I have taken a blast from the nozzle to the sack and once was enough to show me the error of that way of riding. I'll run just above idle and kneel thank you. water cops be damned if they dont like it.

You all must not have tried it on an X2 before, they are truely an sob in a no wake zone. I damm near got fined at Lake Chelan a couple of weeks ago, I think the officer was laughing deep down when he made me slow down and then fall over.

:bs2: , take them to court.....

Its standard no wake or 6 knots, whichever comes first. There is no idle laws.... even making a wake sometimes is not a finable offense, take high current areas going against the current. no way you're going to idle anywhere, just move slow as possible to not kick up too much wake and no one can bother you.
