no start for my SN

Here's the problem I had last weekend:

(My ski is a 1991 SJ that is bone stock except for a Coffman's exhaust that came with the ski so I don't know what type it is etc.)

Saturday the ski started fine (after sitting for 2 weeks) & ran for about 30 minutes in the late morning. It than sat on the beach until afternoon (went out wakeboarding) when the skis were taken out again when it was running on only 1 cylinder. Checked everything I could think of with no luck & nothing obvious (although I am rather limited mechanically w/ these skis).

A friend then rode my RN, flooded it since he didn't turn the bilge on, & killed the battery trying to start it again. When I started the SN to go rescue him the SN started up fine & ran great (felt better than it has all summer) to go get him & some rope from the boat.

I gave him the SN so I could tow the RN in & the SN wouldn't start. It has spark on both plugs but acts like it's not getting fuel?

On Sunday morning I did get it to start (on the trailer) but it felt like it was runnning on 1 cyl. & ran real ruff. It quickly died & I couldn't get it to start again. When working on it that morning I couldn't get it to start on "ON" but it did start on "RESERVE," but then no start after that - just sounds like no fuel.

Any ideas?

The skis store where we camp & I brought the carb home in case I have to do any work on it, so I can't look @ stuff until the weekend.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Micah

Since you've got the carb out, clean it.

Order new fuel lines and new filters.

Check to make sure you're not fouling your plugs by having your low speed jets like four turns out or something insane like that.

Also, cut your plug wires back a little bit and replace your spark plugs.
