Super Jet No Spark After Changing Plugs

Location
BC
Changed the plugs on my 92 SN and she just wouldn't fire up. Changed back to the old plugs and after about 5 minutes of cranking, it started. Rode for a good 45 minutes with no problems and thought it was just a fluke. Changed to the new plugs in the morning and nothing. Put the old plugs back in and tried to get her to start and the checked to see if the plugs were sparking and nothing. Cranks over hard but I get nothing, but the plugs are getting fuel.

Any ideas guys? This is a weird one.

Thanks a bunch in advance!!

You checked spark with a spark test light? Did you properly gap the plugs before installing the new ones? A weak coil will sometimes not jump the gap on stock plugs. Most often you have to close the gap on plugs out of the box. If you tested the spark is it blue or yellow?

try pulling the black and white wire plug that goes to your start/stop switch. could be your switch decided to give out.

Yes, never rule out multiple issues. I'd also check the connection between the plug wires and boots. They are prone to failure and you may have finished them off by pulling them on and off thru all this.

If mine has been sitting a few days a little shot of carb cleaner in the carbs or plug holes can help get things going. If you have the screw top style plugs, did you tighten them? It's not likely, but not impossible you got bad plugs.
