No quotes from Uship

Anybody shipped a ski lately? I've had a shipment for a hull posted on Uship for a while no and have gotten zero response, I'm kind of surprised last time I did this I had multiple bids within a few days.

Is Uship going out of style or something?

Had the same thing happen to one I was trying to ship out of Buffalo, NY. I think it was the location of the pickup. I have no problems with shipping along the I95-I75-I10 corridors on the east coast.

With freight quote were you dealing with commercial carriers that needed a bombproof crate or was it like uship where your could get a guy with a trailer that could just put the hull in the trailer and good to go?

It's commercial in a semi and needs to be crated and fork liftable.

I had a few quotes on the last ski I shipped, but it was limited and all bids were expensive. One of the carriers said Uship takes like 25% of their bid now.

If you use YRC freight terminal to terminal option you still have to crate it up, but it is very cheap. I’m paying to ship a ski from the east coast to the Midwest for $140...

Yrc, guaranteed to be late and charge you extra after pickup or delivery. They are a nightmare.

I was about to post the same. The last 3 shipments using YRC, they lagged and then came back a week or two later and said that the weight was off and wanted more money. Don't use YRC... They use to be good, but now they hit you low and try and bump you later.

I’ve talked to multiple people with the same problem. YRC is a scam. There could be a lawsuit against them if al of us got together.

for example i had a hydrospace delivered. I paid for lift gate delivery at a residence. I ended up having to pick it up 5 days later because they couldn’t find a driver to driver it... then they charged me $140 extra for it being the wrong Weight..

a similar situation happened when i shipped a rickter. They were late picking it up by 3 days and then sent me a charge of like $200 because of the wrong weight again.

YRC sent me 3 late bills for “wrong weight” on 3 different skis... they told me that a superjet, a carbon rickter, and a friggin hydrospace all weigh in at 570lbs to the pound.... sound a little fishy to you guys?

Used YRC before for the ProForce and they were actually very good. Not late, crate in good shape, fairly helpful at the terminal.

However.
I work for a car dealer and we use YRC to ship wheels off for coating, etc. and YRC sucks ass 50% of the time. Late, surely, difficult to get a hold of. Hit or miss, like most things.

Welcome to the world of dealing with freight companies. They are all bad and the drivers are even worse. I have to deal with them alot. YRC in my area has been 1 of the better companies. I always request a call 24 hrs before delivery they only call maybe 25% of the time.
