No cooling pisser on Squarenose SJ?

Looking at the engine from battery side, does the flow of cooling water flow up and right into the cylinderhead or flow left and down?? which way does the flow travel?

Please say Flow = left and down or up and right into the cylinder head?? from the rear cooling hose.

When looking at the stock setup there are two hoses that are attached to the cylinder head. one on the rear of engine and one on front. how does the flow of water go through the rear colloing hose??

When you say "the pipe extracts the water from the cylinder head" I am not sure which hose you are reffering too, there are 2??

aside from the fact that this is VERY BASIC stuff, and you keep asking the same question over and over again, what does it matter which way the water flows?

ill even throw you a bone and tell you that the water goes from the head to the pipe in both hoses.... but im just trying to figure out what youre gaining from this knowledge.

Yep, you need to get a clue, obviously you need to get with someone who can help you with the basic mechanical principals of the ski. If you do not know the headpipe from the exh body then you do not need to even attempt at trying to tackle a job as simple a this. Find someone local who can help you or take it to a shop and pay them to do this for you. It is not even a needed mod and you should just ride the dam thing and not worry about it. :tapedshut:

Because I ran my ski on the flush kit and a bunch of water was just coming back out of the ski by the intake grate area!! I dont have a pisser on my 91 SJ 650 and dont see any water getting blasted out of the exhaust so...........thats why I need too know

Are my arrows in the picture the correct flow for cooling water to go throught the motor???

should I maybe attach the flush kit on the hose in the front of the motor instead?? I just want to make sure i dont do any damage by running out of water!!

I forgot!
the water should alway be flowing out of the head, both those hoses have water flowing out of the head, the front hose has water flowing out of the head, the rear hose has water flowing out of the head, Dirk, which way is the water flowing?

i dont think he even knows what the "head" is.

you have to use terms like, "top thingy" and "big black thing that says yamaha on it".

ive already answered the question and now hes drawing diagrams while asking the same question.

so... my flush kit aint doing SHI* being hooked up at the hose on the rear of the engine??? I just put a T with a hose adapter! If water flow out of each hose how the hell does it even get into the head in the first place??

dirk, the water starts at the pump and goes into the exhaust manifold, then through the manifold into the cylinders, after cooling the cylinders it flows up to the head and cools the head, after that it will exit the head and go into the head pipe to cool that. if you put a tee in between the head and the headpipe and force water in, it will flow both ways. some will go into the exhaust, and some will go into the head/cylinder/exhaust manifold, pump and drip out on the driveway. do you ride in salt water or fresh water? if you ride in fresh water you don't need a flush kit, at least i don't.

I am moving to Tampa FL in 3-4 months and just want to get them ready! I dont want to be stranded in the ocean at sunset in one of the biggest bull shark breeding grounds, or on a lake with the aligators!

If I put a "inline shut off valve" where the yellow X (Just below my T fitting)is would I be creating a "back flush" when the valve is closed and the water from hose is on?
Pretty much water being forced upwards and into the head through this hose!
Can water be ingested into motor with this setup? thats my main concern!

Is back flush the correct/best way to run a ski outside of the water??

Wouldnt what I just came up with in the picture be a back-Flush kit??

I was told to use that T fitting on my flush kit as a pisser so wouldnt putting the inline shut off valve do the exact same thing??

After reading all this I think I unleared things. What exactly are you trying to do Dirk? Install a pisser or a flush kit? Flush looks ok

Cape Coral FL,
Get rid of the flush kit, add a pisser and back flush motor through that pisser.
Problem solved.

That's the setup I have on my Sxi pro. The first time I back flushed, I couldn't believe how much sand and little shells get flushed out of the motor that otherwise remain there when you use the regular flush kit.
