Sweet, I'd love to. Plus I'd love to get some other enthusiasts to jump on mine and tell me where it should be for what it is.

Don't know if you guys got the chance to ride Corsons when they were dredging it for the beach replenishment, but it was f'ing sick. We were riding the OC side of the dredge and on the incoming there were steady clean peaking 8+ footers for (what I remember) like a month straight.

Oh yeah, it definitely did. Now there's a sand bar about 4-500ft out that follows the beach line dead in the middle of the inlet. It makes a nice breaker area depending on the tide, but I hadn't rode out there in a long time until late last year when a buddy of mine and I went out on my skis during low tide... I knew it was shallow, just not how shallow. Had to drag that freakin ski about 50 feet through small breakers washing over the sand bar... just not quite enough to help of course.

But while the dredge was there... it was ****ing amazing.

There's also a huuuuuuuuuuuuge sand bar right at the bridge strathmere side... they should have dredged the ICW before they screwed with the inlet just for the purpose of beach replenishment, but regardless, the currents there in a small beach inlet are going to leave that place a mess forever.

I along with some friends are not big Corsons people. Sucks to break down that far from your truck

That dredging was years ago....

Most all of that has been filled back in by mother nature.

BUT, during the dredging and shortly after, there was a nice shelf break just north of the "channel".

That day there was plenty of "fart cushion riders" putting around....

I agree... though I've seen plenty of guys on the OC beach right at the inlet with their trucks doing a lot of surf fishing. I assume that's open pre-memorial/post-labor day though and I wonder what their rules are about beach launching the skis.

A guy I work with who's buying a ski this year drives out there and surf fishes all the time, I'll have to ask him about the permit price and rules.

Yeah, there's the break north of the dredge... that was some good stuff while it lasted. The guy I used to ride with and I spent our evenings after work out there for as many days as we could. I've been riding a lot out of Townsends since it's right down the street from me, and the last year or two the sand bar has been stacked nicely and gives a nice V current, so when the tides are right, it's a nice jump area.

Permit is $50 and good only in the offseason. You cannot beach/ocean launch a ski there though even with the permit, park rangers will give you a ticket.

Dammit.

Won't waste my time getting a permit for that then... Still planned on getting one for Brigantine regardless, but it's a little more of a hike for me.

I ride at Corsons all the time. I was out there every sunday and some weekdays last season. Always had a great time although it does suck to break down and have to be towed all the way back to the ramp. Parking sucks too if you dont get there first thing in the morning.

I definitely want to try Brigantine this year even though its farther. How's the surf there? Is it shallow? How much is the beach permit or whatever I need to launch there?

When there is surf it's def an awesome time. You can pretty much see you truck from the inlet surf site. It's shallow where you want it to be but there is enough water to backflip.

As of right now you need a legit 4x4 no all wheel drive anymore. The permit is 160 until march first then jumps to 180.

PM me with any questions

Where were you parking at?

I usually launch out of here:

It's quiet, plenty of room on the sides of the street to park and work on your stuff without people bothering you... ramp used to be nice, last time I was there it had washed out quite a bit and was a little chopped up, but still usable.

I mostly go to the small ramp behind that little trailer park. Yellow Arrow.

They recently put up a wooden fence there though that is gonna kill parking. Other than there, I go to the ramp by the bridge on the OC side.

Gotcha, well, if you'd rather launch out of strathmere, the red spot is the place to go. Ramp is wide enough for two trailers at once, and there's enough parking for at least 20 vehicles with trailers, and at most I've ever only seen around 6-8.

It's about a 1 minute ride difference, plus there's usually one or two no wake buoys in there. :icon16:
