dont compare a 5.0 monster to a 0.7/8 motor :) Big motors suck nitrous like college students do beer. The impeller should do fine as you do not need the max rpm. The torque is increased so much that when you leave your wake your rpms will be 3/4 way up...not full to spin the impeller. Obviously the impeller has to be a good one not a 50 beat to death ebay find.

And my logic is a good frestyle motor setup is what, $4000-5000? I can build a solid rec motor for less than half that and put nitrous on it for 500 and then have 2 to 3 thousand to spare and fill the bottle with. And then I'd have the best of both worlds, a reliable rec motor for cruising around, and a monster hit when I want it.

You don't have to get a mount like that made, there are plenty of cheap ways to mount this stuff, just might not look as neat and tidy or have that bling factor, it'll still work just fine. Looking at the OP's setup, he doesn't exactly fall in the category of doing a nitrous setup to save money, he's doing it cause he can and just wants to.

Wilke,

I tried this system last year with a cheap mount on top of the engine and caused a lot of damage. A friend of mine designed this for me, in the long run I think it will save me some money. Time will tell...

I installed 40hp nozzles this weekend, and went through over 10 lbs of nitrous. This thing runs awesome. Wish I had the balls to try some tricks ie: barrel roll, back flip. I will try to get some video.
