Newbie here

Hi all thanx for the ad..

So I bought a B1 almost 2 years ago and well it’s hardly been used over past 12 months
And now I have decided to keep it thanks to the freeriders input into my dilema, I now need to do maintenance.

I purchased the ski and i loved it, built by someone that knows them so I knew I was getting something worthwhile.
Well I stripped bits down today and noticed bolts and nuts missing. I was concerned and glad I pulled things apart.

So now it seems my prop and ring have had multiple dates without my consult and have now left me with a repair bill and whilst I’m there I’m going to do more as I set it up for more surf durability..

Now I’m confident swimmer, surfer and freestyle(try to) on my SeaLice(Spark) and I can ride my B1 in the surf but not doing anything other then falling off and jumping in a straight line but now I’m going to push harder and get the surf hang of it.

What would you recommend I do more to my ski to keep it safe through the beating times ahead?
It has almost every 701 Bolt on already but pump wise I want to have GOOD Hookup, no Cavitation, and maintain Holeshot I don’t care if I shave speed as I don’t feel I need top end in the surf(correct me if I’m wrong) so I want to give it a reliability birthday

Any help will be appreciated. Mods I’ve done since owning it are: JETMANIAC Waterbox and love it 94C8B414-FA9E-4DD3-AF9F-4042FA2E4E5B.jpeg58571411-BD08-41A0-B868-B8FAA31EA037.jpeg6ECD7FB4-1134-4773-B3CE-22D2E59593A3.jpeg257F6A2F-1050-42F5-AC8F-FE362AEB2EAF.jpeg0F73AF90-7F3B-4A97-82B5-532D8F1B8173.jpeg33B58D62-042F-422D-AED5-18E57C7776EA.jpeg582ECCCA-F317-40CF-A336-3321CC617714.jpeg5924AA1E-7BAE-4B97-A4BA-E667A34FFEC3.jpeg

JetManiac is your friend my friend :) He sells replacement wear rings and seals for your pump. The damage you see is not unheard of. These pumps have a stainless steel liner, when the salt gets behind it or if it can freeze with a touch of water trapped between that sleeve and the housing, it will force a bulge in the liner. This means your impeller as you have seen, will impact that bulge. When that happens, it's pretty well time to replace the wear ring portion of the pump. Having a stock pump, you can blueprint it. It's easy to do but quite time consuming. All you need to do is grind off any casting blocks and polish the inside. It will help a lot with maintaining good hookup in the surf. In these photos, you will see at the end of my screw driver some of the casting blocks I removed from my pump and what I did to blueprint it. You can also add in a pump stuffer like I did if you wish. It will help pressurize your pump and work much better with a large hub impeller like a Hooker 9/15.
