650/X-2 New X2 Owner - some general pictures

Hey Guys,

I just picked up an X2 and have a few general questions.

Here is a link to a couple of pictures that I took

I think I will probably remove all or most of the decals...

What year is it? and what are the specs?
What type of oil should I use do I need the good synthetic or will 2cycle O/B oil work?
There is no kill cord - do I need one or will this thing circle if I fall?
What do I need to do to store this thing in the winter?
Can I run it out of the water?
Any common issues or fixes that I should look into?

Thanks for your help!

Last 2 digits is HIN # is the year model
any TCW 3 oil is fine
Unless the spring on the steering shaft is broken or removed it will circle if unoccupied
motor fog/stabil in fuel for storage
run out of water for 15-30 seconds only
a list of specs appears in the sticky threads and on wikipedia

Thanks for the response.
I checked and it's a 93 model.
Is this spring visible? Or do I need to take something apart?
Thanks again

*DONT pull the knob on the left side of engine where the exhaust manifold is. that is a case drain they usually leak if you mess with them. i would recommend buying the block off plate for it before it leaks and kills your engine. its supposed to be there to drain the water out of your engine if you sink it. But it is just as easy to pull the plugs out and crank it over without having to worry about a possible air leak. *I also have my idle turned down to the point where it will die after about 10-15 seconds. that way you can let off and it it wont die right away but if you fall off and it goes straight (which they sometimes do) you wont have to swim far. *Leave the hood off any time your not riding it to let the moisture evaporate and not crust and rust your engine bay( helps if you get most of the water out prior to letting it sit, tip it over or sponge.) *Rev (snap the throttle back and forth) out of water after riding 15-20 sec. to get most the water out of the exhaust. *Just a suggestion, get some moto bars on there stock is gay.
