New to the sport, & my Ski won't start

While I was in there cleaning I noticed a piece that was broken. It is the piece that contacts the positive lead and that splits, going to two of the brushes.
It looks like it broke due to excessive heat (dark black around where it broke, not shiny like the rest of the piece). That and I guess it is just old. The ski is a '93 and I think it is the stock starter motor.
I don't know if it would be easier to get the piece that broke and reassemble the motor or just get a new one. I'll talk to prem1x about his and see if I can get the engine roaring again.

i doubt your starter is bad. a battery charger wont turn the starter like a fresh battery. it just doesnt have the amperage to do so.

IF your battery is good (how do you KNOW its good?), the clicking could be explained by a loose connection or connector.

a bad starter wont make the relay go ga-ga.

a better way to test the starter is with your car battery.

werd.... ya just need to have it on the higher amp setting... good plan though
