Other New to the Sport..have many questions

New to this sport. considering buying a late 80's to an early 90's kawasaki i found for cheap. is it possible to swap motors with say a different hull design and control tower(if thats what they are called) also any type of front end conversion to swap the block style for a smoother round style. And on the performance side besides doing the basic set-ups such as the cylinder heads pistons crank etc. What could be done with the plates etc. and for swapping differrent parts from say a Yamaha a kawasaki and a polaris. i live in daytona beach florida and need to play in the water lol any feedback would be great. i plan on doing freestyle and maybe a little bit of racing with it

i can do an engine build and dampening set-up myself. Just questioning looks and how to alter performance with the jet system

As you are in Daytona, and you have the surf there, I personally would only purchase a SJ or 750cc + Kawasaki...

It sounds like you are thinking abut purchasing a Kawi 550 or Kawi 650 for $1K and that is waaaay too much money in my books...

With 1K to spend on a ski that needs work I would look for a SN Superjet.
For $1500 you should be able to find a nice one ready to ride with some tasty mods done already.

yea im new to the sport and i just bought a Kawasaki 750sx for 500. (kinda more rounded body style, like you said) needed some fiberglass repair. but it runs good. so you can get much more for 1k...

Ad is somewhat vague on what exactly comes with the ski, but from what I see its most of it is there. Definitely would need some clarification.

I would pay $750 (Maybe haggle him down some) for a 650sj rather than a older kawi any day for $500.
