got a sj550 for free needs some work but runs. what mods should i do first. i want to just do some riding in lakes and mess around alittle. I am 6'2 240lbs.

if it's an sj, then it's not a 550, but if it's a js, then it is a 550.

Do everything or sell it and get a better ski. If you're 240 pounds, you will not be very happy with the performance of a 550 for long, if at all. I've been on one that probably has no original parts left on it and its not very amusing. I'm the same size as you are. I'd get it running and get into a ski with more engine. If that's not an option, start with a pipe and impeller. But you'll be surprised how quickly you spend enough that you could have bought a better ski.

at 6'2 240lbs youre probably too big for the ski in all honesty... unless you have heavily modified engine and pump youre gonna probably struggle to ride it.. stockish 550s are pretty weak...

yeah its a js 550 sorry im gonna stick with it cause i got it for free worst case ill just leave it at the lake...
