FX-1 New (to me) hull...

I bought this 1995 Yami FX1 15 miles from my house. Its BARE!! It doesnt have a title because the numbers were used to title a previous owners aftermarket hull.

I have a titled 650 SN now...will most parts transfer over? id sell the 650 motor and snatch up a 701 to put in it instead. How much stuff will work and how much wont work? Or is it a better option to sell the SN and fund a build and buy numbers seprate??

the motor should work but you will need to get a new midshaft, drive shaft, pole bracket, pole, and motor mounts. (im pretty sure about those but not sure if anythig else is needed)

well I sold the SN and bought a 61X motor and electrics for the FX1... I still need a lot though!! I have a Kawi 650 pump from a X2 im parting out so i think I will go that route sense its parts I already have. Will a SJ steering cable/ throttle cable/ start-stop switch work on the FX1?? Anyone do their own pole/pole bracket for their FX1??? Also i am thinking of doing the 650 kawi pipe in the FX1 for the time being (will a PJS 650 Kawi pipe work if I get the correct 701 mani??).
 
To use the kawi 650 pump you will need a zxi driveshaft and different bearings for the midshaft. A SJ steering cable will not work but the throttle cable and start stop should. Not sure on the pipe.

I have a zxi shaft lined up from a local Im 90% sure. What bearing do you run w/ the conversion?

I might be aquiring a Coffman 650sx pipe this weekend so I will have options as far as that goes... how does yours hit alex_hockey?

I dont know what pole I am going to run yet on the FX1?? Maybe fab one once i get/fab a pole mount...idk???
 
I'm not sure the exact measurements of the bearing but you will need one that has the same OD as an FX1 midshaft housing and the ID of the ZXI driveshaft. I believe there was a thread about this. You might do a search.

LOL your fine, no offense taken!!

If someone is local though and has done the Kawi 650 pump swap, I wouldnt mind buying the brew to have a knowledgeable hand there when I do mine...your place or mine, idc...
 
I havnt run my pipe yet man, basically besides the opening dia. of the headpipe its the same dimesions of the sizzler pipe for the 701, i just bored my headpipe and the measurements were the same as my sizzler. Should make decent power i havnt had my ski out yet this year shes currently being painted.

still willing to buy bre for a volunteer who has experience doing the 140mm pump swap.... :)

Also looking for reccomendations for pole's... im thinking ill shorten a RN pole and run that for now... any suggestions??

Also when I go to reiforce the hull what products and quantity of stuff would you guys reccomend from uscomposites? Any tricks to glass/carbon work?

Beer offer is still on the table for a 140mm pump savy person!!!

UPDATE

Parts ive collected thus far...

-Hull/hood-titled now
- AC Pole (paymend being sent out today!) and pole bracket.
- 701 motor and elecs
- throttle cables, steering cable, motor mounts, s/s switch, steering, etc
- PJS Kawi 650 pipe
- Pro tech rideplate
- Probably will run a 550 gas tank (the one I was going to use i gave away accidently in a hull i had, doh!!)
-I got a 900zxi shaft lined up just havent bought it yet

Still need...
-chin pad probably
- paint
- bearing and housing for kawi swap
- waterbox (might run a 550 factory bran waterbox??)
- intake grate


Im kind of looking for someone in MI who has done the KAWI 140mm pump swap. If they dont mind giving me a hand swapping it in ill provide the beer!!
