Super Jet New square nose VS. old square nose

I forget the year they changed 08 I think? I am going to get an SJ soon and not sure which haul to go for. My friend has an 07 with dry pipe, water injection, 82mm, port matched, riva head, MSD, and a bunch of other stuff that I could get but I would like to get more into surf riding and am not sure if this would be the best set up for what I am looking to do. Just looking to get some opinions.

people buy RNs and buy lowered hoods and pole brackets to make them more like SNs

Wow I am an idiot I just realized i typed new square vs old square when it should of been round. Thats what happens when your half asleep I guess. Anyway I don't have access to ride both and my fear is that I am not developed enough of a rider to know which is better for me yet anyway. Unfortunately I am stuck with mostly flat water but I want to get more into surf riding as much as I can.
