New spring or old?

Hi. Figured someone could point me in the right direction here. Working on the old waverunner 500. Rebuilding the 38 round carb. My rebuild kit came with a new spring that is obviously longer and a heavier spring. Description has nothing about weight of new spring. Question is wether I test with new spring and possibly have to tear back apart or just use the old spring. The wr ran good when put away but has sat for 3yrs so I figured for the $15 I would rebuild the carb.

If it’s an aftermarket carb kit it’s crap. Only genuine Mikuni. If it ran good never change the spring as most in the kits are wrong.

Those look like different color springs. Which will not net you you result you want
