New ski's for me, 1st timer!!!

Hello everybody. I just purchased some new ski's, well new for me at least. They are: 1989 550 sx and 1991 550. I'm pretty stoked at the moment about my purchase. I've never had a stand up before. I was just wondering if you all could help me with a couple things. I really would just like to know what I should go over on the ski's to make sure everything is ok. They have been sitting for quite a while now. Any information and help would be great. Is there anywhere to buy new parts for these things, everything seems to be used. Thanks a bunch, love the sight.

Do they both run? Or are you worried about starting them after they have sat for so long? If the gas is old, then drain it and put in fresh pre-mixed gas.

The past owner said they ran but i haven't tried. A compression test is being done today. I didn't know if there was any regular maintance that could be done to help out.

How long have they been sitting? If they've been sitting a long time it may be worth it to pull the head off and put some oil in the cylinders or at least dump some down the plugs and hand crank it a time or two.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm getting a compresion test done today. Anything else I should know about up keep would be great. Thanks a bunch. Also, how long does a tank of gas usually last?

congrats man, i just picked up a new ski as well. as far as your situation goes, im not too familiar with ski maintainance but i know cars. and pretty much what everyone else said, comp test, lube that baby up, and maybe some new plugs/wires.
