New addition what would you do?

So here I sit with a 650 square the FX1 and my wifes 650sx which is almost ready for paint:woot:

Im thinking swap the motors on the FX and SJ. Then do my holds,turf,scupper and paint to it and use the FX as the back up ski. My goal is freestyle and I prefer the square for hoodwork. (handlepole and bracket on the FX :bigeyes: ) Anybody ever put a 650 in an FX1? Was it,would it be okay for just cruising around? I want to build a diff motor for the SJ next year then put the 61x back into the FX and boat anchor the 650. Or am I going the wrong direction here?? Any input suggestions appreciated.

I forgot the story on this guy. My buddy traded a pretty cool dodge duster for it 3 years ago from a yamaha mechanic. Newly rebuilt motor, grate, plate skat prop and bilge. He got the ski just to go ride with me. Ive ridden it as much as he has. So anyway he knew i needed a little beater car for work and he found one he wanted. SO he calls me and tells me he will sell me the ski for $750 cause he wants such and such car. I point out ive only got a grand to get a beater car so he says for a $1000 Ill throw in my 77 LOL Honda civic. I helped him put in the new motor three months ago it gets like 40mpg and is reliable as hell! Long story short I just got a little old honda car and a square in really good shape for a grand!!!

well, I think if you wanna do footholds and al that stuff to your square, do it all before you swap engines. take your time, reinforce the ski if you want, footholds, scupper, whatever you want. Take your time, make it nice. then switch engines. I think the fx1 will be fine with a 650. and then when you have enough money, build the new motor, stick it in the square, put the fx1 engine back in, and shelf the 650 or part it

yes!!! good plan....

build the square...ride the fx for the season (if youre not done already) then sell the 650 on eby.......they typically pull 3-400..

In my dream world I build a 760 for the square porting head b pipe etc... then do a similar build on the FX but stay 701 w/a pump conversion!!!
But $$$ So yeah Im still riding the FX right now couple more weeks anyway. Gotta finish my wifes before I tear another one apart.

I agree take your time and do the square right. It'll be nice having a ski to ride while you work on your square. Do all that you want to the square this winter and take your time. Even if it thaws out and you are still working onthe square you still have the FX to ride, you're gonna have to change your screen name however. :frown:

Yeah Jeremy you saw the square I got Killer deal?! I thought so. Same one we had down there. Im thinking Reinforce,holds,turf,move the bilge and paint this winter then when thats all done Ill throw the 701 in for awhile. Then I can do the patching up on the FX its got a few gouges in bottom. The guy that sold it to me knows I will always have a ski for him to ride so hes happy too. Plus now hes going to work on the KTM I sold him last year

I am actually thinking of using some different holds next season. If so, I'll cut the kickers out and sell them cheap.

I might be interested in them. I need to do some more research but I have been told by some guys that you can put foot holds into an X2 if you put them on the inside under the seat. Not sure hot true that is, I need to talk to some of the X2 guys and find out what they think.
