New AC Alum Handlepole :-(

Just bought a new AC pole, installed it only to find out it wasn't drilled out correctly and doesn't line up with my hood.
After calling AC 8-10 times, they want me to send it back (at my cost) and wait for them to make another one.

My AC Pole was like that from 2001-2003. Many are like that, their jig has always been out of whack.
Your not the first nor last.

That is ridiculous!!! It's sad how they label the box "made in the USA", like they've done a good job. The finish on this thing a pretty bad too, but I wasn't going to mention that.

are they going to refund your shipping for their mistake? you should see how the pole pad mounts are drilled on mine...

I think I'd rather pay the $20 to ship than have to deal with this kid William that answers the phone. He has the worst attitude, and acts like I am wrong for calling and complaining. I somehow stayed calm talking to him, yet he hung up on me once, and transferred me to voice mail about 8 times.
I've left 3 voice mails and sent 2 emails, and not once have they tried to call me.

not to talk up how good the ac quality is but, when i had my ac pole on my stock bracket it was more crooked than when it was on my wdk lowerd one. i had to put alil piece of turf on hood same side as where your pole bends to. also added a new hood, which made the pole area wider so i didnt notice it all at once.

but the quality does slack, looks like the just bent the pole into shape, which gives it that "dinged" up look.

it is a very solid pole tho........

PM sent, Sorry about our customer service troubles I am doing my best I can to change that around there for our watercraft product. I understand the predicament and there are things we can work with your set up to get you all dialed in! Again sorry for the frustration ill call you on monday.

Anyone with AC Racing Watercraft product issues and or questions contact me at MGomez@Acracing.com. I check my email there 5-10 times a day during week days and will help you all out the best I can.

Thank you

One thing I've found when installing poles is that no matter which piece is really out of whack, the bracket alignment can fix it. The bracket has a little play in it. 1-2° of wiggle adds up to a pretty good distance over 40+ inches. When I first installed my pole and bracket, the pole didn't even rub the side of the hood, it hit it square and wouldn't even go inside the hood. I loosened the bracket bolts, lined it up, and it was dead centered.

Heck even if I had to enlarge the holes on the hull just slightly to make it line up I'd rather do that than go through the hassle of sending a pole back and waiting for another one. Just my opinion though.

No thank you that is the BIGGEST problem that AC Racing has had and the logical main challenge we have. I have personally worked with the jig the ONE jig that is an iron fixture and it is straight from the bushing mounts to the steering. This is the biggest problem is that we all assume that Yamaha makes the brackets and mounting holes for the handlepole brackets exactly straight. I'm not saying their off by a long shot but like Waternut said just a mm off to the right or left goes a long ways 40 inches up the handlepole. I've personally helped 4-5 friends install AC poles that I have sold them and especially come to this problem with newer brackets. all we did was loosen them up set it even in the hood and cranked the bracket down again. I wish more people would consider this problem rather than point the finger at the company who provided the pole... I understand the guy at our front desk with the phone needs to fall off a cliff and die.. but regardless I know im here to help everyone 100 percent but its an uphill battle if we have complete faith that our pole brackets are all ways dead center perfect.
So please dont hesitate to send me an email with questions and concerns. I will work with you guys but lets also work together because I know the product is solid I have ran their poles for the last 2 years and want to support everyone who enjoys them as much as i do.
Thanks

These pics clearly show that the issue is the pole. The crazy thing is the good people at AC want to blame it on everything else, and can't assure me the next one they send to me will be correct.
