After working on ski's for only a little over 2 years, I've come to the conclusion that there is never just one thing wrong with the ski when something acts up.

The reason I thought of this was because my SJ has run pretty good all season with only little things acting up but the last couple days have apparently been payback. The ski shut off on me a good way from home and wouldn't crank. The bilge quit working as well so logically I thought the battery was the problem...nope. I eventually limped it home with it misfiring and eventually found the culprits... The fuse on the bilge pump was corroded, the wires to the battery were loose, the wires on the solenoid were loose because the studs were stripped, the positive wire to the total loss had the eye connector rusted out real bad, both positive and negative battery connections were rusted, and the total loss switch was acting up. So with all of that fixed, I went out today and the ski ran great for about 3-4 minutes and then was worse than ever. After more searching, one of the plugs just died...wasn't fouled and wasn't the wire. I replaced the plug with an old one and it ran great all day until the reserve fuel line got clogged with something and would only work in the "on" position. I'll tackle that one tomorrow...

Certainly some of those things could've been prevented with more thorough/frequent inspections but still...geez!!!
