Hi I have an 89 440js with a west coast pipe, water box, westcoast plate, hydroturf matts custom paint aluminum handle bars finger throttle and I believe a mikuni carb and its been rebuilt and it has clear lines and a custom gas cap

I used to ride just a 300 that just didnt have enough guts for me

so i got this, this lil ******** is fast

but im not looking to go fast i like jumping and stuff like that

im only 150lbs is this a good ski for me to start doing a lil more tricks and stuff

i just orderd some sheets of hydro turf diamond matt to put along the out side edges of my ski

but im just wondering if i got a good ski to start with

would it be wise to put dakine straps on it or no

cause i cant find anything new like 91+ for what i paid for this

In my opinion I think you started with a very good ski. The 440's rocked and had unbelievable power if ported correctly. As far as the straps that is personal preference. I would say glass in the bolts if your going to returf so you can run them if you want.

I'm not sure what your exact question is, but since you have it, and it seems to run well, go ahead and add the straps. They aren't expensive and will help tons and are easy to install.

However, don't spend too much on it, try to save for the eventual upgrade to something even stronger. It never fails, once you get used to power, you want more.

Selling all X2 and 650 parts - message me!
Another option as opposed to foot straps would be to fashion pieces of hydroturf to the sides of the mats to act as footholds. PM me to put pics on, my stand up is getting them, and they are just spare pieces that are glued up and let you wedge your feet in.

My stand up is backed into a corner right now. PM me as a reminder and I'll yank it out and set up fotos of what I mean.

and when i looked up the selling prices of my js 440 compared to my 300 it tells you the hp they had

it said the 300 had 30hp and the 440 only had 27 why is that ?????

I kno my 440 has more than that now but I was just wondering

The 300SX was 1/2 of a 650SX engine which was rated 50hp, so I doubt it would be rated 30.

I have a 91 440 that i did a custom paint job on and have aftermarket parts.

I have
coffman pipe and exhaust manifold
Re jetted 38 mikuni with west coast velocity stack
Jetyme bigger nozzle improved my bottom end alot and mid
skat 15.5 prop
west coast ride plate and intake
primer kit
bilge pump
my 440 is a blast to ride i can jump waves and it has pretty good speed im looking to put a 550 top end on it along with a factory pipe and a sbn 44 and group k hammer kit, the boat should do about 45-46. That's all i need, good luck with your boat.

Mike
