need some sxi pro diretion for free style

just picked up a 98 sxi pro that had a bent rod and want to make it a surf / freestyle bike. can you guys tell me what all needs to be done and the best
motor options since i got to rebuild it. and yah i know i should of bought a sj
but there are non for sale in the portland metro area.

You need footholds (not fun install on an SXi), hoostraps, and a bilge pump or two.

You need more compression, timing advance, and a swirl prop. I would get a TBM pump cone and bore the nozzle or get a JH750SS nozzle (81mm). I've got one I could sell you.

How much $$ do you have for the motor? Then we can tell what to do.

on a 750 you need a head, a pipe and a light flywheel or it's useless

the motor i was thinking sxr 800 cans and pistons and pip and ext. i dont know what kind to get but i heard that that setup has alot more lower end.

I run an R&D plate and grate which seems to work pretty good.

I agree with wave demon. I started on an SX and wish I would have never dumped money into it for freestyle. One ride on a SJ and the SX was history.

I always like the Jet Dynamics plate on the SX.

Pipe, prop, timing advance and milled head. That should be enough to wake the ski up!!!!!!!!

Go with group k's big bore sleeper kit. Should run you about $1390. They will modify the carbs, head, intake manifold, exhaust pipe, cooling, some port work and cylinders(849 ccs). It looks totally stock in case you want to race, nobody will ever know. By the time you bolt on a pipe, intake and head you are gonna be close to that anyway. You wont regret it.

yeah that is true too i always had a spare in roatation cuz 1 a season was not unthinkable at least

i loved my kawi's for yrs
granted i have a super jet now i still miss the kawi's at times for certain things
